Faded lines and surface movement
Most calls start because the lot looks tired and drivers are treating the pavement like a suggestion. Faded striping is often a symptom of surface wear. Occasional winter freezes in Dalton bring some freeze-thaw movement, which can shift the asphalt just enough that fresh markings won't sit right or last. If the surface is moving, we find out before quoting the job. We evaluate the asphalt to ensure it can hold the paint.
Clearing dirt and fixing isolated spots
Before any paint goes down, the surface has to be clean. We run a mechanical broom over the lot to clear grit and debris that would otherwise sit between the pavement and the markings. If we find isolated failed spots during cleanup, we use an infrared asphalt heater to repair those specific areas without tearing up more pavement than necessary. We fix what is actually failing, clean the rest, and prepare the lot for a fresh layout.

Resurfacing before striping
If the surface is too far gone for striping alone, we resurface the lot first. Asphalt resurfacing runs $1 to $3 per square foot. We begin breakdown rolling behind the paver while the mix is hot. To achieve uniform compaction, we keep the roller speed at or below 3 mph and use a planned rolling pattern. Once the new surface is tight and stable, the fresh striping goes down on top of it.

- Before sealcoating, clean the pavement and repair cracks; mix the sealer and apply coats, allowing the first coat to dry before applying the next.
