What Striping Does for a Dalton Lot
Stripes are a traffic-control system. Faded lines mean cars park at bad angles and fire aisles look like regular spaces. Before we stripe, the asphalt needs to be ready. If the lot requires cold milling to fix deep failures, we remove the pavement to the specified depth and clean the milled surface before the next paving operation. Paint won't hold on a failing, dirty surface.
Prepping the Asphalt
Dalton gets occasional winter freezes, bringing freeze-thaw movement that works at the edges of parking stalls and existing cracks. Painting over a crack doesn't fix it. We prep the lot first. We use a hot-air lance to heat, clean, and dry cracks in preparation for crack sealing. If the damage is deeper, we mill it out.

Laying the Lines
Once the surface is solid, we lay the paint down at the correct width. If we had to patch sections of the lot beforehand, we finish those repairs using a static steel-wheel roller or a pneumatic tire roller to ensure a dense, flat surface. The paint goes on evenly over these prepped areas. After the striping sets, we check that every line is visible and the spacing matches the layout.
Pricing the Job
Striping costs depend on the lot size and the number of markings. Surface prep is factored separately. If your lot needs hot-patch repairs before we paint, that prep work generally runs between $2 and $5 per square foot. Larger lots have a lower per-linear-foot striping cost because the setup is spread out, while smaller strip centers carry a higher per-unit cost.

Maintenance and Upkeep
Summer sun and winter freeze-thaw cycles eventually break down the bond between the paint and the asphalt. Commercial lots need periodic restriping to stay compliant. Scheduling a striping refresh in early spring gives you a clean layout before the busy season hits. We evaluate the lot, handle any necessary milling or crack prep, and put down lines that last.
